LEVEYart Digital custom wallcovering serves as a unique, non-repetitive wayfinding technique, all the while providing a sense of well-being and opulence to the residents of REVERA, a leading provider of accomodation and care for seniors.
Revera – leading Canadian provider of accommodation and care for seniors, hosted the grand opening of its flagship location on Sunday, October 28th. Westney Gardens in Ajax, Ontario is a unique and innovative multi-unit rental residence featuring revolutionary technology and design. Toronto firm Van Der KingDesign Group Inc’s and LEVEY’s expertise were commissioned by Revera to design and produce functional, beautiful, decor within an elegant, forward thinking senior’s residence, where wallcovering as wayfinding leads design into a new client centric direction.
The result has been lauded as creating a helpful, happy, and unique environment that reflects decades of research by Revera, challenged to innovate the future of senior care. LEVEYwall treatment of the corridors and elevator lobby of the five-story retirement residence was conceived as a unique, non-repetitive wayfinding technique that would decorate the walls while providing a sense of well-being and opulence.
Class A Fire Rated and exceeding CAN/ULC S102.-10 – a life saving standard LEVEYart Digital developed over 100 classic images to make the team’s mega-graphic wallcovering design vision into a surface reality.
“Today’s designs for senior living reflect the unique needs of modern aging in place for those who want to maintain both prolonged independence and high quality of life,” says Silvana Levey, CEO of LEVEY. “Revera and the production team considered many factors when choosing a design for the walls of Westney Gardens. These included refinement of specific colours for optimum vision, texture for glare reduction and the full purpose of creating a sense of familiarity.” The high contrast print of black graphics atop the pale beige background provides optimum visibility without sacrificing colour harmony. The result ensures familiarity and comfort while elegantly providing a way for the residents of Westney Gardens to enjoy personally supported methods of identifying their space.

Levey Industries FINAL Press Release “ARCHITECT@WORK“ Show
LEVEY Art Digital has proudly exhibited at this year’s ARCHITECT@WORK Show in Toronto, Canada. This was an unprecedented North American opportunity to promote our innovative line of wallcovering and architectural finishes featuring impressive custom designs printed on environmentally-friendly substrates.
With an exclusive, inspiring format, LEVEY Art Digital sources and delivers wallcovering options that are truly green, natural and durable. As a business leader, we go beyond compliance to create new innovative standards for the wallcovering industry. And, we never sacrifice the originality and beauty of the product in the printing process.
On display at the ARCHITECT@WORK Show, LEVEY Art Digital proudly presented three exceptional cutting-edge architectural finishes. This includes our Glass Textile Wall Treatments. Brilliantly printed digitally on glass fibre, these durable textiles are fabricated from natural silica sand, a sustainable resource. This Optimus print can be scaled to virtually any size to seamlessly cover even the grandest of areas. With notable high quality durability, usage is ideal for high-traffic applications including those that may require regular cleaning and scrubbing. Featuring patented ‘Clean Air’ technology, these coverings eliminate up to fifty percent (50%) of formaldehyde through absorption and permanently trapping this harmful airborne compound.
Equally impressive are Wood Veneer Wall Finishes that can be digitally printed upon. These AA grade architectural wood veneers are domestic and exotic wood species from around-the-world. Employing environmentally-conscious practices and using apatented log slicing process that increases log yield by up to three hundred percent (300%) as compared to traditional veneer production methods, this technology is proprietary. And worth noting: these wallcoverings are ‘Class A’ fire-rated in accordance with CAN/ULC S102.2 fire safety standards.
And finally, our Linen Window Film is a refreshing, self-adhesive transparent fabric that can be installed seamlessly on any type, shape or size of glass or non-porous, hard surface allowing a viewer to see out; albeit, outsiders cannot see in. Digitally printed to our exact state-of-the-art specifications, the Linen Window Film is currently available in fine, carefully curated colours to complement any interior design. This architectural treatment offers endless visual opportunities for commercial installations.

For the most part, wallpaper (as opposed to “wallcovering”) is the more widely familiar home-outfitting product. This may be due to the fact that it is a generally inexpensive material that many of us watched our parents hang – and rip down – throughout the years. It has been the finish of choice for elegant homes since the sixteenth century tapestries.
Unbeknownst to many of us, alongside this residential finishing trend is wallpaper’s more industrial cousin, the wallcovering. Originally developed as a protective wall finish in the 1970s, wallcoverings are typically consigned to commercial applications; and are designed to withstand the demands of highly-populated spaces such as lobbies, corridors, hotel suites, etc.
Wallcovering: A residential finish
More and more, homeowners are turning to the superior quality and luxe effect of wallcovering for their home decorating projects.
Excellent for backsplashes, hallways, entrances and/or wherever one is looking to add a beautiful and durable finish, wallcovering is an elegant alternative to wallpaper and paint.
Customize your wallcovering
As well, with the advancements of digital printing, there is no end of choices, from custom design, scale, colour, substrates, etc.
You can also use your own designs and photos, provided that the artwork is owned by or licensed to you and meets the image standards.
